Let's Golf! 2 App Reviews
For a company that does an awfully good job I wouldve expected to be able to choose resolutions in options. Game looks great on a macbook Air, but not on a 27" imac unless you run windowed (And why would I do that for a GOLF GAME? Would be harder to putt!) The game itself doesnt look too bad when its running at I believe... 720p resolution? The graphics are kind of terrible but for a game that is being sold on imacs it needs resolutions! I do like the gameplay though. I liked it on the iphone and ipad.
You desperately need to fix the ball direction. When I move it up slightly to increase the ball speed, it will often go nuts and instead move the ball speed down at a very fast speed, messing up my entire game. FIX THIS, or I want my money back.
First realize what you are getting, this is a fun little cartoon golf game. I have the original on the iPad and love it. On the Mac I play it windowed so this helps a lot in terms of controls being spread out. The big issue I have in this version is the ball spin is horably broken. Trying to get back or top spin on the ball requires a swipe but unfortunatly it often sends the ball screeming in the wrong direction.
If you like HSG for PSP, youll love this game. Same type of golf / play - easy yet still has a lot of depth. Not something youre going to beat in a matter of hours, this is long term fun.
Great time waster!
This app is lots of fun and I have no problems running it on a MacPro running Lion. On-line play makes it all the better….
Lets Golf 2 is by far one of my most favorite games for the iPhone and the iPad. I constantly play it all the time and it never gets old. The graphics in the game are so vivid it blows me away every time I play, so naturally when Lets Golf 2 became available for the Mac, I downloaded it immediately without thinking twice. As far as I can tell, the game performs perfectly, it does not drop any frames, the graphics on my 27" iMac are killer, and the music that plays during gameplay is nothing short of amazing. Now all of that being said, I have to tell you that their is a bug in the game that makes playing the game more difficult, and sometimes it can ruin your swing. As soon as you make your swing and the golf ball is flying in the air, you can control the way the golf ball spins, the way you do this is youll see this huge golf ball icon in the bottom right corner of your screen, which ever way you flick it, thats the way the golf ball will spin. The problem is, sometimes when you flick it one way, it will spin another. For example, if I want to flick the ball up, Ill flick it up, but it goes down instead, if I flick it right, it will go left, and sometimes it will work correctly so their really is no way of knowing whats going to happen. Because of this, it really does mess up your swing. That being said, I still really enjoy playing the game, and I would still highly recommend the game even with the bug. So in conclusion, if your looking for a really fun golf game, with outstanding graphics, lots of really fun levels, and amazing music, you should really consider this game.
Awesome time killer
Love this game, especially at such an awesome prize. Gameloft are good~)
This game, while passable, was clearly hastily ported from the ipad. There are a few things that need to be fixed before this game can be truly playable. 1.) The spin option needs to be reworked. They apparently tried to map mouse movements to their touch event handler and it is 900 kinds of inacurrate. The lightest touch can put an 80 mph backspin on your ball and send it out of bounds on landing. Very frustrating. 2.) The method of accessing a menu from within the game (option-esc) is both non-standard and confusing. 3.) When adjusting the shot, rather than dragging the target to where you want to shoot, you must click to the right or left of the target. Baffling. Overall, this is a good game, but not much effort was spent in porting it to the mac. Dont buy at full-price, since this was a half-effort at best.
Amazing game, very very fun. The holes are fun, lots of courses and players, and the animations are smooth. Can be kind of frustrating at times, because some of the holes are challenging. But still an amazingly fun game. Worth the price too
This is better than Hot Shots Golf on the PlayStation. The graphics are sharp and the animations are fluid. Gameloft scored a hole-in-one with this game (pun intended). Nice work!
Not a good app
They used to make good golf games but now you have to spend money if you want to play or wait to get energy
Ive been playing this game about 4 or 5 days now, and enough time has lapsed to give an honest review….so here it goes. I really like it. Its not too hard to figure out. For the most part the graphics are great. I am glad I purchased it, and you will be too.
